Privacy Policy

At SoKube, we take the protection of your personal data seriously. We want you to be confident that we will use your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

The purpose of this document is to provide you with a description of the personal data we collect from you, how we use it, and the circumstances under which we may share it with other entities. Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will handle it.

Who is covered by this Data Privacy Policy?

This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors of the sokube.io website and to anyone who contacts us through it.

What personal data do we collect?

We collect the information you send us through the forms on the website:

  • contact form: first name, last name, email address, telephone number, company, job title and message;
  • training registration: the same information, plus the selected training course;
  • job application: first name, last name, email address, telephone number, position applied for, availability, CV, and where provided your LinkedIn profile, website or code repository.

When you contact us by email, we also collect any information contained within those emails (for example, the content of the message).

Like any web server, the server hosting the website records technical data on each visit: IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time. The website uses no advertising tool. It measures its traffic with Plausible Analytics, without cookies and without keeping any personal data (see cookies).

Why do we process your personal data, and on what basis?

We process your data for the following purposes:

  • answering your requests for contact or information and, where relevant, sending you a quote: on the basis of pre-contractual steps taken at your request;
  • managing your registration for a training course: for the performance of our contract;
  • reviewing your job application: on the basis of pre-contractual steps taken at your request;
  • sending you information about our services and offers: with your consent, given by ticking the box provided in our forms, which you can withdraw at any time;
  • keeping the website running and secure (technical data recorded by the hosting provider): on the basis of our legitimate interest;
  • measuring website traffic (anonymous, aggregated statistics): on the basis of our legitimate interest.

How long do we retain your personal data?

We only keep your data for as long as needed for the purposes above:

  • contact requests not followed up: 3 years after our last exchange;
  • unsuccessful job applications: 2 years, unless you ask us to delete them sooner;
  • customers and training participants: for the whole duration of our relationship, then for the legal retention period of accounting records (10 years in Switzerland) for the data they contain;
  • technical data recorded by the hosting provider: according to its own retention policy;
  • traffic statistics: 3 years at most. They contain no personal data.

At the end of these periods, your data is deleted from our systems.

What rights do you have regarding your personal data?

At any time, you can:

  • access your data and obtain a copy of it;
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate, or have it deleted;
  • object to its processing or request that processing be restricted;
  • receive the data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used format;
  • withdraw your consent, where processing is based on it.

To exercise these rights, email us at contact@sokube.io.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland, or with the data protection authority of your country of residence in the European Union.

Do we use cookies?

No. The website sets no cookies, neither for audience measurement nor for advertising.

It measures its traffic with Plausible Analytics, a tool designed to work without cookies. Plausible keeps neither your IP address nor any lasting identifier: it uses the address during the visit to work out your country and compute an anonymous identifier that changes every day, then discards it. The resulting statistics (pages viewed, referring website, device type, country) are anonymous and aggregated. They cannot identify you or follow you from one day to the next or from one website to another.

It only stores in your browser (local storage) the language and the light or dark display theme you have chosen, so that they are kept for your next visit. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Who do we share your data with?

We do not sell or hand over your data. It is only shared with the technical service providers that allow us to run the website and reply to you: website hosting, traffic measurement, form delivery and email.

Who has access to your data and how do we protect it?

Your data is only accessible to authorized members of our team. We maintain an internal information security policy that outlines the measures we take to protect your data. We take appropriate steps to ensure that your data is not exposed, lost, or stolen. In the event of a security breach, we will notify you promptly and inform you of any actions you can take to protect yourself from potential harm.

Where is your data hosted?

The website is hosted by GitLab on servers located in the United States. As with any website, your IP address is sent to the hosting provider when you visit, in order to display the pages. GitLab participates in the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, recognised by Switzerland and the European Union as ensuring an adequate level of protection.

The information you enter in our forms is delivered to us by email through the FormSubmit service.

Traffic statistics are processed by Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia), on servers located in the European Union.
